The last time I stayed at the Sukhothai Hotel Bangkok in March 2010, at which time I gave it a 5 star rating. I was just in Bangkok again, after landing there on a 3-week cruise on the 6-star ship, and decided to stay back in Sukhothai, and I am pleased to say that it retains all the qualities that made such a positive impression on me the first time, I stayed, and performs even 6-star cruise ship seem zhelaniem.Bangkok - a huge city with diabolical movement, and one of the nicest aspects of this hotel - an oasis of tranquility that it is in the middle of the bustle of Bangkok.
This - the result of gardens and water features, as well as the architecture of the open form. In contrast to almost all other 5 star Bangkok hotel, it actually feels like a Thai, and not as a very chic business center.
Rooms elegant, tasteful and spacious with great bathrooms.
Breakfast and lunch in the restaurant Colonnade - a wonderful buffet and dinner in celadon, a famous Thai restaurant Sukhothai excellent: menu - one of those where everyone is tempted to just tell the waiter, "one of everything, please." Best of all, the service is impeccable and truly personal: F & B manager saw that I was walking one day with a few bananas, which I bought on the street, and gently told me, because the hotel "is bananas", the next morning at breakfast she gave me a small bunch of tiny, Thai banana "fingers" to get to my room, completely unnecessary, but typically feature a thoughtful gesture of the staff there.
Return to the "real" world after a few days here - a painful vpechatlenie.Sukhotai not as brilliant as the Shangri-La, is as great as the Four Seasons, or as rich as the Eastern, but for me it is not only by far the best hotel in Bangkok , but this is - a strong candidate for my favorite hotel in the world.
